Marbled Chocolate and Vanilla Pie {a.k.a The Easiest Dessert Ever}

Ever realize suddenly that it was you who signed up three weeks ago to bring dessert to that party/potluck/family picnic in half an hour?

Ever have a kitchen that looks like a three-ring circus?

Ever feel like something decadent late at night when all the stores are closed?

Just me?

Oh.

Well, then...

Just in case you like a little extra free time with your sweet tooth, here's a stress-free, absolutely simple dessert you can pretty much make in five minutes. It looks pretty, tastes light and creamy, and only requires a very small handful of ingredients.

It does require a short while in the fridge to chill if you want it cold. If not, five minutes and presto! Dessert is served.

The Easiest Dessert Ever: Marbled Chocolate and Vanilla Pie

Ingredients:

1 regular package of instant vanilla pudding
2 cups of milk (for the package directions)
5 Tbsp. baking cocoa
3 Tbsp. white sugar
1 basic premade graham cracker crust

Instructions:

Make the pudding as directed on the box. Pour half the batter into another bowl and add the cocoa and sugar, stirring until smooth and creamy {and chocolaty!}

Pour the vanilla pudding into the graham cracker crust. Drop the chocolate pudding in large dollops all around on top of the vanilla pudding.

Using a paring knife (or any small, sharp knife) marble the pudding in a criss-cross fashion. To do this, simply swirl the knife around across the top of the pudding. I like to do mine back and forth, and side to side, to make squares.

Your pie will turn out looking something like this!

If you love your pudding warm, now is the perfect time to serve it up. You may want bowls. :)

If you love it chilled, place in the fridge for about an hour or in the freezer for about thirty minutes.

Voila! Dessert on the go. (Or on your basement couch with coffee at 10 p.m.)

Hello, insta-yum!

Enjoy with life!  <3

{Note. If you want to. This dessert was totally initially a mistake! It was one of those all four burners going, oven on, dishes overflowing, toddler screaming crazy kind of evenings. I had amazing intentions to make a delicious and simple cooked chocolate pudding pie, but with everything else going on I burned the pudding in the saucepan! Great, I thought, there goes my dessert. Then I remembered I had a vanilla instant pudding package in the pantry. Score! It was even faster, and I got the bright idea (more like remembered the necessity) to make part of it chocolate. It was one of those happy mistakes. Just so you know. :) }
