...why yes, I do have a mug for nearly every day of the week. And yes, I understand this is incredibly idiosyncratic. And no, those aren't my teacups. Although, I did receive some beautiful teacups from my mother for my birthday that had belonged to my great grandmother! I love them, and can't wait to enjoy a cup of tea in them...I might have to snap some photos later on and post them.
I sometimes forget that the reason I created this blog was to have a creative outlet, a place to unload whatever's on my mind in any way I can, to share Christ's love through food and drink. Too often it's become about getting the best photos on my camera and uploading them, coming up with the best recipes and impressing anyone who might read this.
How ridiculous. And how sad that some of those posts weren't written with the life I hoped to inspire upon the pages of this cyber journal. Maybe the problem is that I wasn't meant to inspire. Not on my own, anyway. All that inspiration, life, joy, color--it comes from God! {Every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17}
I do, however, believe that we were meant to find these good and perfect gifts and enjoy them, share them! Well, this evening I found joy and peace in conversation, toast with jelly, and a cup of Earl Grey tea. And so...I'm posting about it! Getting back to the simple joys in life is what I meant for this blog to be about anyway!
That being said, Twinings I think is definitely one of my favorite tea brands...I don't think I ever even tried Earl Grey until after I was married! {We had baskets of tea bags and coffee packets as our winter wedding guest favors, and had tons left over!} All this time and I never knew what I was missing....
On another note, I set the coffee maker for 6:07 a.m. My hubby's birthday is Saturday and I want to surprise him with iced coffee at his office after he goes to work. Here's how it's gonna go down: Hubby wakes up. Hubby drinks fresh brewed coffee. Hubby goes to work. Wife pours unsuspected, cooled, leftover coffee into carafe with milk. Wife whips in some chocolate syrup to create desired birthday iced mocha! Wife takes birthday iced mocha to Hubby's office. Hubby is elated: "How did you create this magical coffee?"
...or something like that. :)
Hope you find something small and simple to bring you peace and joy tonight.
